Good news for Bengali cinema lovers!
Celebrated filmmaker duo Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee are once again creating a buzz with their much-awaited film Aamar Boss. The movie will have a special screening exclusively for the members of Rajya Sabha on May 3, 2025, at 11 AM at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium, Parliament Library Building in New Delhi.

The biggest highlight of Aamar Boss is the grand return of legendary actress Raakhee Gulzar to the big screen after a long gap of 22 years. Raakhee was last seen in the critically acclaimed film Shubho Mahurat directed by Rituparno Ghosh.
In Aamar Boss, she plays Subhra Goswami, a courageous woman who challenges corporate traditions to advocate for senior citizen day-care facilities at workplaces.
The story of Aamar Boss feels both timely and deeply relatable. Drawing inspiration from initiatives like Google’s “Take Your Parents to Work Day” and LinkedIn’s “Bring Your Parents to Work Day,” the film explores the emotional struggles of working professionals who juggle their careers while worrying about elderly parents at home. It shines a light on the urgent need for companies to create a more inclusive environment for seniors.

Speaking about the film, Nandita Roy shared,
“Many of us often leave our aging parents at home while we get caught up in work pressures. ‘Aamar Boss’ reflects that inner conflict, offering viewers both an emotional connection and serious food for thought. Having Raakhee di in this role is like a dream come true for us.”

Director Shiboprosad Mukherjee added,
“Last year, I couldn’t attend the Rajya Sabha screening of ‘Shastry Viruddh Shastry’ because I was busy shooting for ‘Bohurupi’. This time, I’m thrilled to be present. We hope ‘Aamar Boss’ sparks important conversations about senior citizen care in modern workplaces.”

Notably, Aamar Boss has already made a mark by being selected for the Indian Panorama section at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), was nominated for the ICFT-UNESCO Gandhi Medal, and was screened at the 22nd Chennai International Film Festival.
At its heart, Aamar Boss is more than just a film — it’s a heartfelt call to recognize the emotional needs of the elderly and to find a better balance between professional ambitions and family responsibilities.
