The Confluence recently hosted a mesmerizing classical music evening, “Raga Sangeet,” at Rathindra Mancha, Jorasanko Thakurbari. The event featured renowned artists, including Sitar maestro Pandit Partha Bose, Pandit Koushik Bhattacharya, and classical vocalist Tannistha Maity.

A Captivating Commencement

The evening commenced with a captivating Tabla solo performance by Oishik Bhattacharjee. His rendition of ‘Teentaal’ was a masterclass in rhythm and technique, with Tiyasha Karar providing harmonious support on the harmonium. This performance set the tone for the evening, captivating the audience with its intricate beats and lively tempo.

Vocal Magic: Tannistha Maity

Following the enthralling Tabla solo, Tannistha Maity took the stage, mesmerizing the audience with her soulful voice. She performed raga ‘Puriya Dhanashree’ and ‘Kajari,’ accompanied by Pintu Das on Tabla, Kamalaksha Mukherjee on harmonium, and Shreena Ray on tanpura. The second segment began with a performance by the acclaimed Sitar maestro, Pandit Partha Bose.
