Kolkata, 4th July 2024: The West Bengal Garment Manufacturers and Dealers Association (WBGMDA) recently concluded its 56th Garment Buyers & Sellers Meet and B2B Expo, marking yet another successful event in the industry. Held at Biswa Bangla (Milan Mela) from 1st to 3rd July, this landmark event attracted over 950 national and international brands and registered over 2500 visitors, resulting in an estimated Rs. 1000 crore in business transactions.

The 56th edition of this esteemed event once again proved its significance in the garment industry. The exhibition, known for being the oldest in the region, showcased the latest trends and innovations, attracting buyers and sellers from across the globe. Visitors praised the event for its decor, ambiance, and the exceptional hospitality offered by the Association.
Leadership and Vision
Sri Hari Kishan Rathi, President of WBGMDA, highlighted the event’s impact, stating, “This industry currently employs over 55 lakh people in direct or indirect capacities, making it one of the largest in the world. An estimated Rs. 1000 crore commercial deal, involving 950 domestic and international brands, showcases the Meet’s role in supporting Bengal’s ready-made garment industry. We are grateful for the government’s efforts to support the apparel and textile sectors.”
