Since last week, rumours have been swirling that Sukumar’s much-awaited action thriller Pushpa: The Rule has been pushed back from its announced release date of August 15 and now the much-awaited sequel of ‘Pushpa: The Rise’, ‘Pushpa: The Rule,’ starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, will be released in theatres on December 6, 2024. Allu Arjun who is the lead actor in this film, shared the announcement on social media along with a new poster on Monday, June 17. Sharing the new poster on his Instagram handle, Allu Arjun wrote, “#Pushpa2TheRule in cinemas from December 6th, 2024 In the poster, Allu sports a grey t-shirt underneath a brown shirt and a matching bandana on his head. He holds a sword in his hand and rests it on his shoulder. Apart from Allu Rashmika Mandanna being the female lead in the film Pushpa 2: The Rule, it also stars Fahadh Faasil in an important role. Written and directed by Sukumar, the film also features Dhanunjay, Rao Ramesh, Sunil, Anasuya Bharadwaj and Ajay Ghosh. Pushpa 2 is a sequel to Sukumar’s 2021 film Pushpa: The Rise, which emerged as a pan-India box-office success. Devi Sri Prasad has served as the film’s music composer, while Miroslaw Kuba Brozek has worked on the cinematography.
The sequel of the film was expected to do well as it was set to be released on the occasion of Independence Day, which is a national holiday but now that the release date has been shifted, it will be interesting to see if the movie is able to maintain its hype or not However, this shift in date is going to be beneficial for the Shraddha Kapoor film “Stree 2,” which is also going to be released on August 15. Earlier, the Allu Arjun film was considered to be its biggest competition, but now that the date has been shifted, Stree 2 is going to have no other competition on the day of its release. However, Pushpa 2 is still going to face competition from another film, which is the Vicky Kaushal starrer “Chhava,” which is based on Chatrapathi Sambhaji Maharaj’s life, where Vicky plays the role of Sambhaji Maharaj.
The release date of this film was earlier known to be December 6 but one is not sure now if the makers of “Chhava” decide to change the dates. Another interesting thing about this scenario is that both films star Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. Now it’s the maker’s call to decide whether to change the release date of the film or not but if the dates are frequently changed, then the audience might get irritated and the movie may lose its hype.
