Cast and Crew of “Sada Ronger Prithibi” Embark on Barge Ride for Film Promotion

Sada Ronger Prithibi, directed by Raajhorshee De, delves into the harrowing reality of widow trafficking in India. The film, set against the backdrop of Varanasi, aims to shed light on the plight of widows while unraveling a gripping thriller narrative. To celebrate the essence of Kashi, still a refuge for many widows, the cast and crew of Sada Ronger Prithibi embarked on a unique promotional journey – a barge ride sailing down the Hooghly River.

The film explores the colorless world of widows in Varanasi, whose lives mirror the bleakness of their white sarees. Beneath the pristine facade lies a sinister underbelly, where criminal masterminds exploit these vulnerable women. The plot thickens when a young police officer arrives to investigate a shelter housing these widows. Unaware of the dangers lurking ahead, she immerses herself in the shelter’s environment, posing as one of its inmates to uncover the truth. Will she navigate the political pressures and other threats to expose the unseen evil?

Presented by Adarsh Telemedia and Amit Agarwal, and produced by Sushant Sengupta, Shrravonii Pal, and Raajhorshee De, the film boasts a stellar ensemble cast comprising 19 top actors from Bengal. Sada Ronger Prithibi promises to spotlight the struggles of widows, the crimes perpetrated against them, and the age-old customs that confine them to a life of restrictions.

The cast includes acclaimed actors such as Srabanti Chatterjee, Sauraseni Maitra, Arindam Sil, Rwitobrata Mukherjee, Sneha Chatterjee, Mallika Banerjee, Devlina Kumar, Ananya Banerjee, Richa Sharma, Sohini Guharoy, Deboshree Ganguly, Oindrilla Bose, Arunava Dery, Ishaan Mazumdar, Monalisha Banerjee, and Anuradha Choudhury. The film also features a special guest appearance by Subhrajit Mitra. Adding to the cinematic experience, the music is composed by Ashu Chakraborty.

Sada Ronger Prithibi is slated for theatrical release on 23rd February 2024. With its compelling narrative and powerhouse performances, the film promises to captivate audiences while shining a spotlight on a pressing social issue.
