Pushpa 2: The Rule has been ruling India’s box office since day 1. It has gained immense appreciation from all over the India specially the North Indian audience. Even in the third week of the film being in the theatres, the craze has not lessened. Pushpa 2 stars Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil and others. The movie has already grossed over Rs 1,500 crore in worldwide box office collection, making it “fastest Indian film to reach this mark”.
On the other side, Baby John is directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee and it is said to be an adaptation of a south Indian movie Theri. The film stars Varun Dhawan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Keerthy Suresh. The action crime drama is all set to release on December 25 for Christmas.
As Baby John releases on 25th December, 2024, it clashes with the roaring movie Pushpa 2. The distributors demanded to continue shows irrespective of the release of Baby John. Anil Thadani also demanded 50% of shows on 25th December but the distributors felt it was unfair and only agreed to give 42% for Baby John, 36% for Pushpa 2 leaving 22% for Mufasa.
Anil Thadani asked all the exhibitors in North India to give him in writing that he will not reduce shows from December 25th for Baby John. If they don’t do so, the RO, that is the release order, to play “Pushpa 2 – The Rule for the weekend, will not be given. If the RO doesn’t come through, theatres will not be able to play Pushpa 2 – The Rule over this weekend,” the report quoted a source as saying.
Following this situation several reports said that PVR-INOX will remove Pushpa 2 from the theatres in the north starting Wednesday as the release order may not come through.
But this fight came to an end when the two parties met and resolved the issue. Now the bookings for Pushpa 2 have begun again. Leaving behind the question how much will it be still be available after 25th December prior the release of the movie Baby John.
