In a proactive move aimed at improving safety and convenience for local commuters, Eastern Railway is undertaking the construction of a Limited Height Subway (LHS) to replace Level Crossing Gates No. 22/3/C/E between Katwa and Gangatikuri stations. On March 23, 2024, certain EMU trains originating from Azimganj, Katwa, Nimtita, and Ahmadpur will be canceled, while select trains will be rescheduled to accommodate the construction activities. Similar adjustments will be made on March 24, 2024, affecting train services originating from Azimganj.
Shuttle Services for Passenger Convenience
To mitigate inconvenience to passengers, Eastern Railway will operate special shuttle trains between Azimganj and Salar stations on March 23, 2024. These additional services aim to provide alternative travel options during the construction period, ensuring minimal disruption to commuters.
