Traditional medical approaches provided little relief. “Dermatologists prescribed antibiotics without identifying the root cause,” Harleen shares. In the midst of her struggles, her mother suggested switching to yoga instead of high-intensity workouts. “Pranayam has been particularly beneficial for me,” Harleen says, highlighting the impact of mindful breathing exercises.

Embracing Traditional Yoga Practices

Harleen prefers traditional Hatha Yoga over power yoga, focusing on how her body feels during each pose rather than how long she can hold it. She also practices Ying Yang and Iyengar Yoga. “Ying Yang emphasizes deep breathing with each pose, while Iyengar Yoga uses ropes, blocks, chairs, and other props to help push your limits,” Harleen explains. These practices have not only helped manage her PCOD but also improved her overall well-being.

The Role of Jal Neti in Sinus Relief

In addition to traditional yoga poses, Harleen incorporates Jal Neti, a process of cleaning the nasal passage, into her routine. This practice has significantly alleviated her sinus issues. “My yoga mat is like sunshine in my life. It helps me start the day on a positive note,” she adds, underscoring the holistic benefits of her yoga practice.
