Monali Thakur walks out of the concert in Varanasi

Monali Thakur a renowned singer with her work leaving imprint behind specially in Bollywood. She has given the industry many hit songs like ‘sawaar loon’, ‘haan ke haan’, ‘dugga elo’, ‘amar dugga’, and many others.

Recently during a concert in Varanasi, she walked out of the show due to the poor managements and “security reasons” according to her team. Lately in Instagram, a clip has been going viral where it is shown how Monali calls the management ‘useless, irresponsible’. She added that “I was very excited for the show, so was my team to perform here, now I feel extremely disheartened. Let’s not talk about the infrastructure and its condition, as that is the management’s responsibility. I can’t explain what they have done to the stage just so they can steal money.”

She even said that she could have injured her ankle at the stage but the management being too poor, she had to raise her voice. She added “We were trying because I am answerable to you all, and you come for me, right? So, you will hold me accountable for all of this.” Before leaving the show, she asked for forgiveness and promises that she would come back as a bigger artist just so she does not have to face all this ever again.

On the contrary to this, media outlets, sponsors, and event organizers alleged that Thakur kept them waiting at her hotel for over four hours and refused to engage with anyone, including the press. Frustrated by her unresponsiveness, the local media reportedly left without securing an interview or even a brief meeting.

One of the Instagram users commented, “This has been a thing with most of the organisers, despite of giving proper tech rider and other requirements they just hire the cheapest vendors to keep extra money. Artists face a lot of trouble due to such issues eventually blaming the artists and management for the delays or cancellations of the show. Most people think that artist comes late and acts up but it’s the organizers who usually delay payments or services correctly before the event. We need better teams for sure to organise classy public concerts.”

This whole situation is utterly ironic as amidst all the talks about development by the MP of Varanasi Narendra Modi, situation like these keeps on happening. Even the fans are still in shock and concerned about this.
