Kolkata, 15th May, 2024: The MSME Development Forum, West Bengal, a pivotal platform promoting the MSME sector, organized a landmark MSME Growth Conclave at The Spring Club, Kolkata. This significant event, inaugurated by Chief Guest Sri Vivek Gupta, MLA, was orchestrated by CS (Dr.) Adv. Mamta Binani, President of the MSME Development Forum WB Chapter. Distinguished attendees included Guest of Honour Sri Rajnish Goenka, Chairman of MSME Development Forum, and Sri P C Khurana, Zonal Head of Central Bank of India East, among other eminent personalities.
Visionary Inauguration by Sri Vivek Gupta, MLA
Sri Vivek Gupta, MLA, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I am elated to inaugurate The MSME Growth Conclave, which aims to catalyze the next wave of growth opportunities, tackle challenges, and foster knowledge exchange and networking to establish the groundwork for sustainable growth in Indian MSMEs.” He highlighted that West Bengal boasts the second-highest number of MSMEs in India and congratulated the Kolkata Chapter for opening a new MSME office in Salt Lake.
Showcasing Talent and Entrepreneurship
CS (Dr.) Adv. Mamta Binani emphasized the event’s objective, saying, “The conclave was held to showcase the talent and entrepreneurship of West Bengal in the vital space of MSMEs. West Bengal houses very passionate MSMEs in the country. This program aimed to disseminate the advantages MSMEs have and the various government schemes available to them.”

Sri Rajnish Goenka, Chairman of MSME Development Forum, underscored the importance of collaboration, stating, “This conclave provides a platform for policymakers, business leaders, and entrepreneurs to exchange ideas, strategies, and success stories, fostering a collaborative environment that highlights the importance of MSMEs in achieving sustainable and inclusive economic growth.”
Keynote by P C Khurana
Sri P C Khurana, Zonal Head of Central Bank of India East, highlighted the critical role of MSMEs: “MSMEs are vital for India’s economic growth and development. They provide employment opportunities, contribute to manufacturing and exports, and support innovation and entrepreneurship.”
Comprehensive Sessions and Launches
The conclave featured sessions on pathways for MSMEs, including the SME IPO route powered by GYR Capital Advisors. It concluded with a book launch on the MSME sector co-authored by CS (Dr.) Adv. Mamta Binani and CA Sanjib Sanghi, Chairman EIRC of ICAI. Multiple moderated panel sessions and a fireside chat enriched the event. The new MSME office in Salt Lake was also announced, with special thanks extended to Sri Ashish Mittal, Director, Golden Tulip Hotel, for his support.
