Adamas University witnessed a milestone moment as it hosted its 7th Convocation, commemorating the achievements of the graduating class of 2023. The ceremony, held on Friday, was honored by the presence of Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, who delivered a stirring convocation address to the assembled graduates.
The distinguished platform featured Padmashri V.S. Chauhan, former chairman of UGC and NAAC, alongside Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi. The convocation witnessed the conferral of degrees, Gold and Silver Medals, and PhD degrees upon 1256 deserving students of Adamas University.
In a notable highlight, the university also conferred Honoris Causa degrees upon four eminent personalities for their exceptional contributions to various societal domains. C.N. Raghupati, Head of Infosys India Business; Minu Budhia, a renowned psychotherapist; Dr. Tarun Praharaj, a distinguished cardiologist; and Goutam Ghose, an acclaimed film director, were honored with these prestigious awards.
Kailash Satyarthi, a laureate of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014, was recognized for his steadfast commitment to advocating against the exploitation of children and advocating for the right to education for all. His founding of the ‘Bachpan Bachao Andolan’ in 1980 marked the beginning of the first people’s movement for social justice, equity, education, and peace for all.
Addressing the students, Nobel Peace laureate Kailash Satyarthi urged each one to express gratitude to all those who have contributed to their lives. He encouraged students to appreciate their professors, parents, and primary school teachers who imparted the foundations of education. Satyarthi also inspired students to walk together so that no one feels left behind.
