Kolkata, 10th June 2024: Celebrating Excellence in Hindi Education
Sanmarg Foundation organized the 18th edition of the Ram Awatar Gupt Utkrisht Shiksha 2024, the only award ceremony in India dedicated to honoring students for their outstanding performance in Hindi. This initiative aims to generate awareness among the youth about the importance of the Hindi language. The event was held at GD Birla Sabhaghar, Kolkata.
Highlights of the Ceremony
A total of 174 students from various educational boards, including CISCE, CBSE, International Board, and West Bengal Board, were felicitated. This year, the ceremony included a special live session by renowned celebrity astrologer and motivational speaker Jai Madaan, who spoke about the journey from education to career. Additionally, a live Arjuna Puraskar competition was introduced.
Award Categories and Recipients
- Student Awards: 15 toppers from classes 10 and 12 of the four boards were honored.
- Institutional Awards: 5 top schools and 3 top teachers from different boards were recognized.
- College and Extracurricular Awards: 4 college toppers and 3 students excelling in extracurricular activities in Hindi were awarded.
- Special Categories: The Arjuna Puraskar celebrated outstanding Class 11 students, the Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Puruskar honored a teacher for unique contributions to Hindi, and awards for Hindi medium toppers promoted Hindi medium schools.
Reach and Impact
Ram Awatar Gupt Utkrisht Shiksha reached out to 5000 schools across Bengal and thousands more nationwide. Students were selected based on their performance in Hindi, extracurricular activities, and personal initiatives. Hindi teachers and schools were also felicitated for their contributions to promoting the language. The Aparajay awards recognized meritorious students overcoming physical, mental, or emotional challenges.
Sanmarg’s Legacy
