Actor Swara Bhaskar is an Indian actress who works in Hindi films, has been a part of movies like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and is known for her supporting work in mainstream productions and starring roles in independent films. She has won two screen awards and has received Filmfare Award nominations, but this actress often gets into the limelight because of her opinions and perspectives about several incidents. She is known for vocally expressing her opinions, and she was recently asked about her lapsed friendship with Kangana Ranaut, the actress who is known for the portrayal of “Rani” in the film “Queen.” Swara and Kangana shared screen space in Tanu Weds Manu and Tanu Weds Manu Returns, but soon afterwards, their relationship fell apart due to their ideological differences. They often spoke against each other via social media. In a recent interview, she was asked about the change in their professional working relationship because of their personal beliefs. Swara said, “What is unfortunate is that sometimes it is hard to even maintain a cordial relationship. But it’s okay. People say you lose friends over politics. But I saw a meme the other day that said that I have not lost friends over politics; I have lost friends over morals. And I like that a lot.” She added,
“Because your politics reflect your morality and your principles. It shows your ethical value system. So, if I don’t respect your ethical value system, then how can we stay friends?”Swara said that it was better to stay away in such cases than maintain a fake facade. “If you can justify and celebrate murder, then I can’t stay friends with you, as simple as that,” she concluded. In the same interview, Swara also spoke about the slapping incident that happened with Kangana at Chandigarh airport and said, “Anybody who is a reasonable person will say that whatever happened with Kangana was wrong.” She also added, “Kangana just got slapped, and even that should not have happened, but at least she is alive and has her security around. In this country, people have lost their lives; they’ve been lynched to death, shot dead in a train by security personnel, and in riots, security personnel have been recorded beating up people. Jo log ye saare acts ko justify kar rahe hai, woh phir aake Kangana ke case pe hume mat sikhao. Kangana and Swara’s beef started when the Queen actor called Swara and Taapsee Pannu “B-grade actresses.” Later, in a chat with The Bombay Journey, Swara said, “I just felt that Kangana calling me and Taapsee B-grade actors was an invitation to talk. So, we should talk. Also, it’s a democracy and everyone has the right to speak.
My only logic is that if you are speaking, then I will also speak. I will also share my opinion.”Recently, Kangana Ranaut won the seat in Lok Sabha from Mandi but has been in the eyes of the media for a very long time, be it for her films or controversial options. The slapping incident that happened with Kangana should not be justified, yet some people on social media are justifying the incident done by the officer in charge, and this is extremely saddening because if cases like this start happening again and again, then there will be questions regarding citizens safety in the country. If anything like this happens again, the audience should support the victim and not justify the actions of the culprit because everyone should be treated with an equal amount of dignity and respect.
