The movie, set against the backdrop of Varanasi, weaves a thrilling narrative that exposes the colorless lives of widows, whose existence is often overlooked, much like their white sarees. The story takes a riveting turn when a young police officer enters the scene to investigate a shelter housing these widows. Unbeknownst to her, she delves into a perilous world, disguising herself as one of the shelter’s inhabitants to unravel the truth. As political pressures and unseen threats mount, the question looms: can she overcome these challenges in her pursuit of justice and expose the evil lurking in the shadows?
Presented by Adarsh Telemedia and Amit Agarwal, and produced by Sushant Sengupta, Shrravonii Pal, and Raajhorshee De, “Sada Ronger Prithibi” boasts a stellar cast featuring 19 top actors from Bengal. The film endeavors to shed light on the plight of widows, the crimes committed against them, and the archaic customs that confine them to a life of restriction.
