Guwahati, December 20, 2023: Bandhan Bank has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Assam to facilitate the collection of both Tax and Non-Tax receipts. The collaboration will empower the citizens of Assam to make seamless payments through the Government Receipt Accounting System Portal (GRAS), ushering in a new era of efficiency, paperless transactions, and accessibility for the people of Assam. The integration of Bandhan Bank with the Government of Assam is set to operationalize the payment collection process in the near future.
With an extensive presence in all 35 districts of Assam through nearly 500 banking outlets, Bandhan Bank is poised to play a pivotal role in this initiative. The citizens of Assam can utilize the e-GRAS portal to make payments for various services, including House tax, Vehicle Registration Tax, Local body tax, Water Bill, Examination fees conducted by Assam Government, and Trade License renewal. The Assam e-GRAS portal facilitates payments to 70 different departments for a wide array of services, and the total collection for FY 2022-23 reached a substantial INR 16,000 Crore.

The Government Receipt Accounting System (GRAS) is a secure web application that enables citizens and the business community to electronically pay taxes and non-tax receipts to the Government. Assam eGRAS, operating round the clock, empowers the citizens of Assam to generate e-challans for required services and make online payments at their convenience, from anywhere at any time.
