In a groundbreaking move, Raajhorshee De’s upcoming Tollywood film, “Sada Ronger Prithibi,” delves into the harrowing world of widow trafficking in India. The intriguing trailer of this cinematic venture was unveiled today at Inox South City Mall, Kolkata, promising audiences a riveting experience that combines a thrilling narrative with a social cause.
The launch event was graced by distinguished personalities, including Dr. Shashi Panja, Hon’ble Minister in Charge of Industries, Commerce & Enterprises, and the Department of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare. The presence of Sohini Sastri, Fortune Teller and Healer; Madhuja Banerjee, Senior Vice President of Fiction Colors Hindi & Viacom 18 Media Pvt Ltd; Amit Agarwal, Eminent Film Producer; and the visionary director Raajhorshee De, added prestige to the occasion.
“Sada Ronger Prithibi” stands as the first-of-its-kind film in India, shedding light on the grave issue of widow trafficking, a subject rarely explored in any language. The movie takes its audience to the ancient city of Varanasi, specifically highlighting Kashi as a haven for widows. The narrative unfolds the colorless lives of these widows, mirroring the pallor of their white sarees, while simultaneously exposing the sinister plots of criminal masterminds exploiting these vulnerable women.
The plot thickens when a young and determined police officer infiltrates the shelter housing these widows, unaware of the dangers awaiting her. As she immerses herself in the guise of an inmate, the film promises a gripping tale of suspense, intrigue, and resilience.
