Kolkata, 24th November 2024: Zee Bangla, a premier Bengali entertainment channel, is all set to introduce its newest serial, Mittir Bari, a heartfelt tale that highlights the essence of cultural heritage and familial connections. Produced by NIDEAS Creations and Productions, the series is slated to premiere on 25th November 2024 and promises to resonate with viewers through its profound narrative.
Mittir Bari portrays the struggles and triumphs of preserving family traditions in the face of modern challenges. The story is led by Jonaki, played by Parijat Chaudhuri, a vivacious and kind-hearted young woman determined to uncover the truth behind her mother’s unjust imprisonment. Her quest brings her to Mittir Bari, a once-majestic ancestral home now in ruins.
At the house, Jonaki crosses paths with Dhrubo, portrayed by Adrit Roy, an upright lawyer deeply committed to his principles. Their clashing personalities—Dhrubo’s adherence to truth and Jonaki’s reliance on small lies—set the stage for an engaging and emotional journey. Together, they strive to rescue the house from being sold by its current owners, who view heritage as a burden in pursuit of profit.
The cast features seasoned performers like Dulal Lahiri, Anuradha Roy, Shankar Chakraborty, Manasi Sinha, Sonali Chowdhury, and Ananya Banerjee, whose portrayals add depth and dimension to the storyline.
A Celebration of Artistry and Vision
The set, meticulously designed by National Award-winning art director Ananda Adhya, reflects the grandeur and decay of the Mittir household. The plot, conceptualized by Shaswati Ghosh—renowned for her work on Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni and Mithai—weaves an intricate tapestry of family drama, heritage, and self-discovery.
The theme song, a soul-stirring creation by lyricist Priyo Chattopadhyay, composer Joy Sarkar, and singer Anwesha, encapsulates the emotions at the heart of the series.
Directed by Sujit Pyne and produced under the guidance of megastar Prosenjit Chatterjee, Mittir Bari will air from Monday to Saturday at 9 PM on Zee Bangla.
A Story Rooted in Legacy and Emotion
Speaking about the show, Mr. Samrat Ghosh, Chief Cluster Officer – East, North, and Premium Cluster, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd., shared, “Mittir Bari celebrates the timeless themes of family loyalty and the importance of staying connected to one’s roots. The crumbling Mittir House is both a symbol of fading ties and a beacon of hope, reflecting the core conflict of the story. The visuals have been carefully crafted to enhance emotional resonance, contrasting warmth and despair to mirror the narrative’s tone.”
Ms. Navnita Chakraborty, Business Head, Zee Bangla, elaborated, “Mittir Bari is an emotional rollercoaster that captures the beauty of relationships and the resilience needed to preserve traditions. The show strikes a balance between poignant moments and lighthearted scenes, creating a relatable and heartwarming experience for the audience.”
Producer Prosenjit Chatterjee expressed his passion for the project, saying, “Mittir Bari delves into the richness of Bengali heritage and explores universal emotions of love, sacrifice, and truth. It has been a rewarding journey to bring this story to life, and I hope it resonates deeply with viewers.”
With its blend of emotion, drama, and cultural depth, Mittir Bari promises to be a memorable addition to Zee Bangla’s legacy of storytelling. Don’t miss the premiere on 25th November at 9 PM!
