Unveiling the Shadows: Grand Poster Launch of Tollywood’s Sada Ronger Prithibi

The vibrant city of Kolkata witnessed a momentous occasion today as the Grand Poster Launch of the much-anticipated Tollywood movie, “Sada Ronger Prithibi,” took place at the iconic Nandan. The film, directed by Raajhorshee De, ventures into uncharted territory by shedding light on the sensitive issue of widow trafficking in India.

“Sada Ronger Prithibi” uniquely celebrates the city of Kashi, still a sanctuary for numerous widows in India. The movie, set against the backdrop of Varanasi, weaves a thrilling narrative that exposes the colorless lives of widows, whose existence is often overlooked, much like their white sarees. The film is groundbreaking as it is the first of its kind in India, addressing the issue of widow trafficking, a subject largely unexplored in any language so far.

The Grand Poster launch was a star-studded event, graced by the presence of notable personalities such as Sri. Indranil Sen, Sri. Debasish Kumar, Smt. Sohini Sastri, Sri. Amit Agarwal, and the stellar ensemble cast of “Sada Ronger Prithibi.” The film’s gripping plot explores the dark underbelly of criminal enterprises preying on vulnerable widows, exposing the machinations of those who seek to exploit their unfortunate circumstances.

The story takes a riveting turn when a young police officer enters the scene to investigate a shelter housing these widows. Unbeknownst to her, she delves into a perilous world, disguising herself as one of the shelter’s inhabitants to unravel the truth. As political pressures and unseen threats mount, the question looms: can she overcome these challenges in her pursuit of justice and expose the evil lurking in the shadows?

Presented by Adarsh Telemedia and Amit Agarwal, and produced by Sushant Sengupta, Shrravonii Pal, and Raajhorshee De, “Sada Ronger Prithibi” boasts a stellar cast featuring 19 top actors from Bengal. The film endeavors to shed light on the plight of widows, the crimes committed against them, and the archaic customs that confine them to a life of restriction.

The movie’s ensemble cast includes Srabanti Chatterjee, Sauraseni Maitra, Arindam Sil, Rwitobrata Mukherjee, Sneha Chatterjee, Mallika Banerjee, Devlina Kumar, Ananya Banerjee, Richa Sharma, Sohi Guharoy, Deboshree Ganguly, Oindrilla Bose, Arunava Dery, Ishaan Mazumdar, Monalisha Banerjee, Anuradha Choudhrury, with a special guest appearance by Subhrajit Mitra.
